Installing Cocoon


Installing Cocoon is a simple and easy process that takes only seconds. However, there are a few tips and tricks that make installing Cocoon as straight forward as possible. If you don't have an Cocoon account, we recommend you get an account before installing Cocoon.

If this is your first time installing Cocoon, please take a look at these system requirements for installing the add-on:

  • Firefox Web Browser, version 4.0+ Get the latest version of Firefox.
  • Internet Explorer, version 8+. Get the latest version of Internet Explorer.
  • Microsoft Windows PC running Windows XP, 7 or Vista
  • Mac running Mac OS 10.4 or later.

Firefox Installation


Step by Step Instructions

Step 1: Go to the Download page and click "Add to Firefox".

Step 2: Firefox will pop up an add-on install prompt at the top right of the window. Click "Allow".

Step 3: Once Cocoon has been downloaded, the install prompt will pop up. After a few seconds, the "Install" button will turn blue. Click "Install Now".

Step 4: Once installed, you'll be prompted to restart Firefox to finish the installation process. With this final step complete, you'll see the Cocoon toolbar installed in Firefox.



Internet Explorer Installation


Step by Step Instructions

Step 1: Go to the Download page and click "Download" under Internet Explorer.

Step 2: Internet Explorer will pop up a download file prompt. Click "Save" to Save the CocoonIE-setup.msi to your Downloads folder (or other, if you've specified).

Step 3: Once you've located CocoonIE-setup.msi in your Downloads folder. Double-click it and start the installer. Read the Terms of Service, accept them if you want to install Cocoon, then click "Install".

Step 4 (Optional): If prompted by Windows User Account Control to give Cocoon permission, go ahead and say "Yes".

Step 5: Once Installation has run, click the Finish button to complete the installation process.

Step 6: Once you've finished installing Cocoon, start up Internet Explorer and wait a few moments for the IE add-on prompt to appear. Once it appears, click "Enable" to show the Cocoon toolbar.
